Jessie Lavelle Parker
Mr. Jessie Lavelle Parker, age 87, of Joyce, La., died Thursday, December 21, 2006, at the Healthsouth Hospital in Winnfield, La. He was a member of East Winnfield Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late James Parker and the late Bell (Lawrence) Parker.
He is survived by his wife Betty (Garner) Parker of Joyce, La.;
two daughters, Lanell Snowden and husband Dale of Joyce, La. Donnie Wright of Joyce, La.;
two sons, John ``Codger'' Thomas and wife Patricia of Winnfield, La. Bobby Joe Thomas and wife Lois of Fort Smith, Ark.;
one sister, Avis Simons of Jena, La.;
two brothers, Ezell Parker of Sikes, La. Sevill Parker of Orange, Texas;
12 grandchildren;
one step daughter Debra Boyett and husband Ronnie of Olla, La.;
two step sons Roger Hayes of Winnfield, La. Dale Hayes and wife Linda of West Monroe, La.; [and]
a host of nieces and nephews.
Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of, Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, December 22, 2006 and from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Saturday, December 23, 2006. Funeral services will be held at Southern Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 23, 2006 , with Rev. Brent Bemont officiating. Interment will be at Hurricane Grove Cemetery in Sikes, La.
Pallbearers will be Randy Thomas, Carl B. Parker, Junior Parker, Eugene Hubbard, Dale Hayes, and Robert Thomas. Roger Hayes will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
