Mrs. Jewel Greenawalt Eley

Jewell Greenawalt-Eley, 85, of Burkburnett, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007, in Burkburnett, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ken Couch, Deacon of the First Baptist Church, Lawton, Oklahoma, officiating.

Interment will be in the Devol Cemetery, Devol, Oklahoma, under the direction of Gray Funeral Home, Grandfield, Oklahoma.

Jewell Inez was born April 4, 1922, in Kaufman County, Texas to James and Mary Covington Stanfield. She grew up in the Kaufman County, Texas area, where she attended local schools. She married Howard Dahl Greenawalt on July 31, 1937 in Dallas County, Texas; they retired and moved to Devol, Oklahoma, in 1980. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1982. She later married James P. Eley on April 14, 1984 in Devol, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1985. She resided in Corsicana, Texas until 1999 when she returned to Burkburnett, Texas. She worked in clerical services and was a homemaker. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Powell and husband John of Devol, Oklahoma and Peggy Dixson and husband Glenn of Corsicana, Texas; one brother, Wesley Stanfield and wife Martha Lou of Chandler, Texas; seven grandchildren: Randy Dixson; Debbie Busby; Debbie Rector; Lisa Lattinville; Scott Harvey; Tamara Westover; and Tony Powell; eight great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and cousins and her adopted beloved family and friends at Evergreen Healthcare Center.

She was preceded in death by her parent's; four sisters; two brothers and one grandson.
