Jewell Cooper

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services for Jewell Cooper, 92, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2001 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Officaiting [sic Officiating] will be Rev. Bob Meredith, associate pastor at Barksdale Baptist Church in Bossier City. Interment will follow at the Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 24, 2001 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jewell Cooper passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2001 in Bossier City, LA after a brief illness. She was born in Pleasant Hill, LA and was a homemaker. Mrs. Cooper was a member of Barksdale Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert Cooper; son, Jack Cooper; and daughter, Thelma Nix.

She is survived [by] her daughters; Martha Cooper of Bossier City, Barbara Westbrook of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Lisa Westbrook of Houston, TX, Pete Nix of Biloxi, MS, Ricky Nix, Linda Stovall, Sue Nix all of Ocean Springs, MS, Billy Nix of Biloxi, MS; 12 great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren, and special friend, John Ince.

Pallbearers will be Hugh Cates, Louis Bradford, James Bass, Thomas Felts, Dodwell Jones, Leo Jones, and Chuck Womack.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Hill, R.E. McMillian, Youree Lee, and Elmer Shepard.

Memorials may be made to the Barksdale Baptist Church.
