Jewell Hollis Whittington
Jewell Hollis Whittington, 80, of Livingston, La., died June13, 2006, at his residence.
Visitation is 6 to 9 tonight at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, and 10 a.m. Friday until services there at 1 p.m. The Rev. Gene Douglas will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Mr. Whittington was born Aug. 20, 1925, in Amite County to Jim Buck Whittington and Myrtis Graves Whittington.
He was a welder with Boiler Maker Local 582. He was a member of Colyell Baptist Church in Livingston.
Mr. Whittington was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Floyd, J.B. and Grady Whittington; and one sister, Versie Freeman.
Survivors include his wife, Leola Whittington of Livingston; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jewell Leon and Peggy Whittington of Central, La., Glen Allen and Sandy Whittington of Livingston, and Lewis Keith and Cathy Whittington of Bethel, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Joseph Whittington and his wife Lisa, Paul Whittington and his wife Kristy, Billy Whittington, Danielle Whittington, Rebecca Nicholson and her husband Jimmy, David Whittington and his wife Heather, Erin Demara and her husband Louis, and Jessie Whittington; four great-grandchildren, Kelsie, Hunter, Ethan and Daniel Whittington; and two sisters, Mae Butler of Prairieville, La., and Bernice Van Waggoner of Gonzales, La.
Pallbearers will be Joseph, Paul, Billy and David Whittington, Jimmy Nicholson and Dakota Mann Rollins.
