Jewell (JR) Raymond Gann, Jr.

Jewell (JR) Raymond Gann, Jr. passed away March 14, 2006 at the age of 82. JR was born in McKinney, Texas October 1, 1923 and became a resident of Corpus Christi in the summer of 1929. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the 8th Army Air Force 423 rd Bomb Squardron, 306th Bomb group. While stationed in England he met the love of his life Edwina (Winnie) who he married and brought home to Corpus. He worked at NAS and ARADMAC for 36 years before he retired. He always loved being near the water and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, American Legion, Travis Baptist Church, NRA, and TBPA.

Survivors include his daughter, Shirley Faull (Chris) of Odem, Texas; son, Douglas Gann (Jana) of Corpus Christi, Texas; four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; one sister, Mona Ruth Holland of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Jessie Redman of Bedford, England and Ila Gann of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Funeral services are scheduled at the Cage-Mills Funeral Home at Mcardle and Everhart on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Seaside Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Forrest Smith officiating.
