Mr. Jimmie Walley
October 15, 1937 - December 28, 2015

Jimmie Doyle Walley, Sr., 78, passed from this life Monday, December 28, 2015 at River Oaks Hospital. Jimmie was born October 15, 1937 in Bay Springs, MS to James Allen and Jessie Heidelberg Walley.

He served as a United States Marine from 1956 to 1962, attaining the rank of Lance Corporal (E-3).

He co-owned Edwards Auto Trim Shop with his brother Lee Walley in the 1960’s and transitioned the business to Edwards Upholstery, providing custom furniture upholstery and repair for many residents and businesses of Jackson and surrounding areas.

In addition to these skills and talents he performed many services for others including building/remodeling houses, restoring antique cars and providing sign services for businesses and movies produced in the area.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Allen Leroy (Lee) Walley, Henry Marville Walley and sister Frances Delores Walley Braswell.

Jimmie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lula Chennault Walley, his children Carole Newell, Sue Emerson (Jerry) and Jimmie Doyle Walley, Jr., brothers Calvin Walley and Lloyd Walley, 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 10am Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Funeral services are 11:30am Thursday, December 31, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with interment at Rosemont Cemetery.
