Mrs. Jimmie Evetta Schifano
December 21, 1925 - September 30, 2012

Mrs. Jimmie McCarty Schifano, age 86, of Ocean Springs, MS, died on Sunday, September 30, 2012, in Ocean Springs.

Mrs. Schifano was born in Bay Springs, MS to Walter and Maybelle McCarty. She was the Valdictorian of her high school class at Bay Springs High School, a longtime resident of the coast for about 58 years, and retired from Bell South Telephone Company. When she moved to Mobile, AL she met and married the love of her life, Vincent Schifano. She enjoyed sewing and gardening and was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. Mrs. Schifano was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was loved by everyone who lives she touched. She will be sadly missed by all.

Mrs. Schifano was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Schifano, Jr. and granddaughter, Shannon.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Vincent Schifano of Ocean Springs, two daughters, Charlotte Schifano (Gary) Wylie of Huntsville, AL and Debbie Schifano (Neil) Morris of Saucier, two sons, Ronnie (Hetomi) Schifano of Okinawa and Michael Schifano of Gulfport, brother, Alfred McCarty of Bay Springs, MS, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, from 1 pm until 2 pm, with a 2 pm chapel service, all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Southern Memorial Park.
