Jimmie W. James Sr.

Jimmie W. James Sr., 82, of Centreville, died Sept. 2, 2000, at Centreville Health Care Center.

Services were 10 a.m. today at Newman Funeral Home in Centreville, with the Rev. A.J. Ogden officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery of Centreville.

Mr. James was born Sept. 14, 1917, in Meridian. He was the son of James E. James and Eva McCullough James.

He was a retired mechanic and a member of the Nazarene faith. He resided in Meridian for 81 years, and Centreville for almost two years.

Mr. James was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clarence and Fred James.

Survivors include three sons, Jimmie W. James Jr. of Meridian, Danny James of Centreville and Tommy James of Quitman; three daughters, Frances James of Quitman, Mary Berry of Georgetown and Patti Lee of Selma, Ala.; a special friend, Barney Tucker of Meridian; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
