Rev. Jimmy McNair

Rev. Jimmy W. McNair, 68, of 194 Halbert Thames Rd. Magee, MS went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2007. He died at Bedford Care Center of Mendenhall, MS. Bro. Jimmy fought a battle with Alzhiemers for 5 1/2 years. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Beulah Baptist Church in Magee, MS. Burial will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Upton Mims-Mitchell will be handling the arrangements.

Bro. Jimmy graduated from Magee High School in 1958 and served 6 years in the Mississippi Army National Guard of Magee.

Bro. McNair retired from McCarty Farms -Tyson Foods, March 30, 2001. Bro. McNair was licensed on April 2, 1972 and ordained December 9, 1973 to the ministry. He pastored several churches in Simpson and Adams Counties. Bro.. McNair pastored Stanton Baptist Church of Natchez from 1974 to 1984. His last church he pastored was Calvary Baptist Church of Saratoga Community from August 1994 to September 1, 2002.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Marie McNair, two brothers, Gene McNair, Howard (Buckey) McNair, and sister, Joyce McNair Love.

Survivors include his wife of 47 1/2 years, Mary M. McNair of Magee, daughter, Rose Mary McNair Crocker and husband, Buddy, two grandsons, Shane and Christopher Puckett and one step-grandson, Mack Crocker all of Mendenhall, one sister, Diane Wigley and friend Louis Cherry of Braxton, three brothers, Dr. John L. McNair and wife Kathy of Carriere, MS, Rev. Lester (Pat) McNair and wife Frances and Gary McNair and wife, Margaret all of Magee, brother-in-law, Robert (Bob) Love of Florence and sister-in-law Kaye McNair of Madison as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Donald Rankin, Phillip Rankin, Frank Holland, Lesley Johnson, Zeno Mangum III and Albert Lyons. Honorary pallbearers include past and present deacons of the churches Bro. McNair pastored.

Family request that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 227 Sullivan Rd, Mt. Olive, MS 39119 or any other charitable institution.
