McCARTY
Jody McCarty went to be with the Lord
Thursday, September 16, 2004 after a
lengthy illness.
He was born in Burke,
Texas on May 21, 1912 and died at his
home in Hempstead where he had
resided for over 50 years at the age of
92. He was graduate of Sam Houston
State University where he received a
Bachelor of Science degree in
Agriculture. He was an Agriculture
teacher, a county extension agent, and
owner of McCarty Feed Store and
served two terms as county
commissioner. His public services
included president of the school board,
fire chief, active in 4H and FFA,
belonged to the Masonic Lodge and
Sons of Hermann. His interests
included farming, ranching, fishing,
and hunting.
He is survived by his wife
Mary Ann McCarty of Hempstead,
three sons: Donny, Paul, and James;
two daughters: Mary Jo Simpson and
Jeanette Dollar.
Services held
Saturday, September 18, 2004 at 3:00
p.m. at McWilliams Funeral Home,
Hempstead, Texas with Brother Calvin
Springer and Sister Hazel Flora
officiating. Burial following at
Hempstead Cemetery.
