Joe Anne Price
Joe Anne Hardy Price, was born in Flora, MS April 15, 1932, went home to be with her Lord on February 20, 2012. She was a graduate of Flora High School in 1952, Gilfoy School of Nursing, Old Baptist Hospital on September 4, 1954 and continued to work at Baptist Hospital before entering into Industrial Nursing at MS Products. She joined the MS Air National Guard, attended Flight Nurses School at the AERO Space School of Medicine, and was discharged as a Captain on June 14, 1967. She returned to the Baptist Hospital as a staff nurse, and later worked for Drs. Ross and Pharr.
She was preceded in death by parents, John Thomas Hardy and Eleanor Lucille Rogers Hardy; sister, Fannie Elizabeth Hardy Mason.
She is survived by her husband, Harry L. Price of 59 years with no children born in this marriage; brothers, Edward C. Hardy (Pauline) of Raymond, Tommy Hardy of Canton; three nieces and three nephews; and aunt, Jane Brigdon of Saucier.
She was an avid animal lover and was preceded in death by her five beloved cats, Troubles, (2 Persians) Mr. 1 and Mr. 2, Pretty Girl Price and Trooper Price.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to C.A.R.A., the no kill animal shelter. Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Pkwy. in Ridgeland is in charge of services at 11:00am Friday February24, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Fannin, with burial to be at Bethel Cemetery, Purvis Community, Flora, MS at 1:00pm Friday.
