Joe Bill Savell

FRANKLIN -- Graveside services for Joe Bill Savell, 77, of Franklin are set for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Savell Family Cemetery near Franklin on Pin Oak Road.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.
Mr. Savell died Monday in College Station.
He was born in Bessie Mae. He was employed by the Texas Veterans Association as the Robertson County veterans service officer for 15 years.
Mr. Savell lived in Franklin for the past 41 years. He was a Baptist.
He was a member of numerous organizations, including the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9873 in Franklin, Disabled Veterans of America, Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star and Honor Society Order of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Savell also was past ER president of the Order of Elks and served as state ombudsman for Robertson County. He also served as the Masonic service coordinator for Texas.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steve Savell.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Evelyn Savell of Franklin; two daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn and Richard A. Speck of Magnolia and Donna Ray Savell and James Green of Franklin; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Catherine Savell of Marquez; a sister, Hazel Self; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
