Man killed in motorcycle wreck

JENA -- A Nebo man was killed at 9 p.m. Monday when a car crossed the center line and collided head-on with his motorcycle, State Police Troop E reported.

Joe Clint Collins, 19, was declared dead at the scene, which was along La. Highway 127 about five miles south of Jena, a troop spokesman said.

Charles B. Deville, 25, of Jena was the driver of the car, and he suffered minor injuries, the troop spokesman said. No charges were filed pending further investigation.

Graveside services for Collins will be at 11 a.m. today in Hailey Cemetery with the Revs. Scott Wilson, Everett Mayo and Glen Maghon officiating. Services are under direction of Hixson Bros.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Van Collins of Nebo; one brother, James Capps of Nebo; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Rachel of Jena; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Collins of Jena.
