Joe Hugh Rayner

Joe Hugh Rayner, 65, of Robbinsville, N. C., formerly of Bay Springs, died Monday, March 23, 2009, at Jasper General Hospital in Bay Springs.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Jasper County Wednesday, March 25.

Mr. Rayner was a heavy equipment operator with Phillips and Jordan Construction. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Bay Springs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Rayner, and his sister, Nell Kennedy.

He is survived by one daughter, Tammy Hayes of Robbinsville, N. C.; three brothers, Ray J. Rayner of Louisville, Ky., Troy Lee Rayner of Bay Springs and Ray Rayner of Bay Springs; one sister, Bobbie Nell Jernigan of Taylorsville; and two grandchildren.

Memory Chapel of Laurel is in charge of the arrangements.

Joe Rayner

Joe Hugh Rayner ``Mississippi Joe'', 65, passed away, Monday, March 23, 2009 at Jasper General Hospital in Bay Springs, Miss.

He was a native of Bay Springs, but had been a resident of Robbinsville for several years. He was the son of the late Roy and Tressie Rayner. He was employed by Phillips and Jordan Construction, and had been a dedicated employee for 15 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Rayner in 2006; sister, Nell Kennedy; and nephew, Mike Rayner.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Eric Hayes of Robbinsville; grandchildren, Stephanie and Trevor Hayes of Robbinsville; brothers, Ray J. Rayner of Louisville, Ky., Troy Lee Rayner and Ray Rayner, both of Bay Springs; sister, Bobbie Nell Jernigan of Taylorsville, Miss.; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services were held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Jasper County, Miss. Memory Chapel of Laurel, Mississippi was in charge of the arrangements.
