Joe Kenneth Montgomery, 75, of Route 12, Box 824, died this morning at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Hale-South Funeral Home.

Joe Montgomery

Funeral services for Joe Kenneth Montgomery, 75, of the Harmony community on Highway 15-South, a retired carpenter who died Wednesday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at New Home Missionary Baptist on Highway 54-South, with the Rev. Johnny Brewster and the Rev. Emory Langrell officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery by Hale-South Funeral Home.

Born February 27, 1912, in Glendale, he was a son of Roy and Mary Wall Montgomery.

He had served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Disabled American Veterans.

He was a member of New Home Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Pearline Harris Montgomery; a son, Don Montgomery of Pine Bluff; two daughters, Bettie Modisette of Houston and Gwen Langrell of Sherwood; three brothers, Jack Montgomery of Star City, James Montgomery of Seattle and Vick Montgomery of Wilmar; three sisters, Nell Harper of Port Arthur, Texas, Elizabeth Terrell of Pine Bluff and Sue Miller of Beaumont, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

The family will be at the home.
