Final Rites Today for Joe L. Ford
Funeral services for Joe L. Ford, 49, market manager of Ed's Shopworth Supermarket No. 1, 850 Benton Road, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Bossier City.
Mr. Ford was pronounced dead on arrival at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Bossier City General Hospital. He suffered an apparent heart attack while at work.
Mr. Ford, a resident of Bossier City of the past 26 years, lived at 1116 James St. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bossier City and had been associated with the supermarket for nine years. He was a native of Sikes.
Officiating in services will be the Rev. W. D. Stogner, pastor of th Waller Avenue Baptist Church of Bossier City, and the Rev. Damon Vaughn, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bossier City. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Bossier Parish.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Hazel Ford, Bossier City; his mother, Mrs. E. A. Ford, Sikes; three sons, Charles Waynne Ford, Shreveport, William Glenn Ford, Trenton, N.J., and Bobby Joe Smith, Bossier City; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Snead, Coushatta, Mrs. Patrick Sheeley, Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Shirley Whilhite, Monroe; three brothers, Aubry Ford, Olla, Richard A. Ford, Morgan City and Robert Ford, Fort Benning, Ga., and five grandchildren.
