Joe Spradley
Funeral services for Mr. Joe Spradley, of Lake Murvaul, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William H. Hitt officiating.
Burial was held at Adams Cemetery.
Mr. Spradley, 79, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1987, at Panola General Hospital.
Born Dec. 27, 1908 in Cook County, he was the son of G.D. and Iva Galloway Spradley. Mr. Spradley was a resident of Panola County most of his life. He was a self-employed logging contractor and farmer until his retirement in 1976. Mr. Spradley was a member of the New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife: Martha Spradley of Lake Murvaul; one son: Bob Spradley of Carthage; one daughter: Joan Rhodes of Timpson; one step-son: Frank Langley, Jr., of Elysian Fields; two step-daughters: Frances Baker of Carthage, Sharon Dennard of Carthage; two grandchildren: Donna Spradley of Tyler, Joy Rhodes of Nacogdoches; and seven step-grandchildren: Shannon Baker, Sean Baker, Andy Dennard, Brandy Dennard, all of Carthage, Trip and Lexi Langley, both of Elysian Fields, and Angel Baker of Nacogdoches.
