Funeral services for Joe Prudhomme, 66, of Carthage, Texas will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Taylor and Rev. Chris Cawley officiating. Burial will follow in the Restland Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Family visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 at Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mr. Prudhomme died November 23, 2013 at his home in Carthage, Texas.

Mr. Kenneth Ray “Joe” Prudhomme was born May 30, 1947 in Jonesville, Louisiana. He was one of eight children born to John Archie “Jay” and Vivian Emmons Prudhomme. He was schooled in Harrisburg, Louisiana. Joe spent his career in the Oil Field working off shore.

Joe loved anything equestrian. He was a horse trader, trail rider and chuck wagon racer. Mr. Prudhomme was a member of the Tatum Cowboy Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, William “Rooster” Prudhomme.

Mr. Prudhomme is survived by his son, Wesley Prudhomme of Carthage, daughter, Chastity Cawley and husband Chris of Columbia, MS, brother, Stanley “Pete” Prudhome and wife Liz of Harrisonburg, LA, sisters, Betty Morris and husband J.D. of Lake Claiborne, LA, Ann Brown and husband Ken of Athens, LA. Tweetty Newman and husband Eldon of Carthage, Patty Walker and husband Marvin of Carthage, Penny Roberson of Carthage, grandchildren, J.W. Prudhomme, Shelby Prudhomme, Forrest Cawley and Cody Cawley, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Norman Hunt, Mark Browning, Aaron Weaver, Scott Waters, Scotty Fields, Steve Jacks, honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Boykin and Graylon Freeman.
