Joe T. Carter Dies; Sweetwater Rites Set Today
SWEETWATER -- Joe T. Carter, 1200 Lamar St., died at 4:30 p.m. Monday in Simmons Memorial Hospital after an illness of two weeks.
Funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Highland Heights Methodist Church. The Rev. Clarence Stephens, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories with Patterson Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Carter was born April 6, 1891, in Forney, Tex. He was married to Nola Hanes March 17, 1912 in Dallas. They had lived in Sweetwater since 1912.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Jennings of Sweetwater and W. A. of Big Spring; three sisters, Mrs. Ola White of Winters, Calif., Mrs. Mae Ratliff of Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. Nora Faw of Winden, Ariz.; one brother, Jay of Sweetwater; and one granddaughter.
