MOUNT OLIVE -- Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home for Joe Wesley ``J.W.'' Carr Jr., 87, of Mount Olive, who died May 12, 2008, at Hillcrest Nursing Center.
Burial will be in Mount Olive City Cemetery.
Mr. Carr was a teacher and coach and member of First Baptist Church of Mount Olive. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Wesley Carr and Nina Blanche Carr; and a grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Dollie McDaniel Carr; two sons, Charles Wesley Carr of Bush, La., and John Michael Carr of Cottondale, Ala.; two daughters, Nina Lou Chambers of Mobile, Ala., and Brenda Doris Long of Mount Olive; two brothers, Edgar Carr of Lumberton and George Carr of Vicksburg; a sister, Eleanor Carr Lewis of Mount Olive; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
