Joe J. Rolen Dies in Orange; Funeral Monday

ORANGE, Oct. 29 -- Joe Jackson Rolen, Jr., 43, of 1235 Palm drive died Friday at 10:18 p.m. in Orange Memorial hospital.

A rosary will be recited today at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 7:15 p.m. in Claybar Funeral chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic church. The Rev. John Ulm of Pasadena will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery in Orange.

Rolen, a native of Sikes, La., had resided in Orange 24 years. He was shop superintendant at Ramsey-Kantz, Inc., and a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife, Claire Vem [sic Ulm] Rolen of Orange; three sons, Thomas, Patrick and Michael Rolen; two daughters, Mary Claire and Cecelia Hildegard Rolen, all of Orange; his mother, Mrs. Margaret Rolen of Sikes, La.; six brothers, Howard Rolen of Monroe, La., James Rolen of Shreveport, La., Charles Rolen of Murfesborrow [sic Murphreesboro], Tenn.; Donald Rolen of Vinton, La., and Connie and Ronnie Rolen, also of Vinton; three sisters, Mrs. Don Coon of Vinton and Mrs. Alford Parker and Mrs. Ezelle Parker, both of Sikes, La.
