JOHANNA SUSANN GAAR

Well known businesswoman, Johanna Susann Scheibner Gaar, died December 28, 1991 at St. Marks Hospital.

She was born March 10, 1910 in Dresden, Germany to Paul and Emma Scheibner. Married Blanchard Gaar, April 1, 1944. Susann immigrated to America as a teenager and with her father, Paul Scheibner, founded Scheibner's Health Food Store in 1939, the store is Utah's oldest exclusive health food store. She was a member of the LDS Church.

She is survived by her husband, Blanchard, children of a former marriage, Mrs. Roy (Betty) Poulsen, Salt Lake; Irene Burnham, of Calif.; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, John Scheibner, of Florida; and Rudy Snyder, of California.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 31, at Russon Brothers Mortuary Chapel, 255 South 200 East, S.L.C., where friends may call from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Primary Childrens Medical Center.
