KILGORE -- Services for J. A. Jones, 80, of Kilgore were scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Freddie Ward officiating.

Burial was to be in Kilgore Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.

Mr. Jones died Wednesday in Longview after a lengthy illness. He was born Nov. 30, 1906, in Win[n]field, La. He married Annie Jones.

Mr. Jones was a native of Win[n]field. He was a retired carpenter and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife; four sisters, Annie Lee Barker of Odessa, Janie Mae Helms of Harlingen and Pauline Carpenter and Zelma Marie Carpenter, both of Win[n]field; a brother, Eugene Debs Jones of Kilgore; a stepdaughter, Martha Sheflet of Sweetwater; and two stepsons, Alvin Webster of Sweetwater and Junior Webster of California.
