John Alvin Taylor

CLARKSVILLE -- John Alvin Taylor of Dallas, formerly of Avery, died in the Methodist Hospital, Dallas, Wednesday, Jan. 20.

Services were set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with burial in Avery Cemetery. Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Mr. Taylor was born in Harrisville, Miss. Nov. 12, 1900. He married Nancy Arender on Feb. 5, 1928. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Robert Taylor of Dallas, five daughters, Louise Parham, Myrlees Wilkins and Sylvia Medders, all of Dallas; Jimmie Lee and Barbara Wages, both of Avery; one sister, Gladys Summerall of Brandon, Miss.; 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
