COLUMBIA -- Funeral services for John S. Brooks, 85, of Columbia were held at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia, with the Rev. Harry Burns officiating.
Burial was in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Columbia under directions of Riser and Son Funeral Home.
Mr. Brooks died Monday morning at the Haven Nursing Home following a long illness.
Survivors include two sisters, Sarah Ibela [sic Idella] Brooks and Mrs. Lula Iona Johnson, both of Columbia.
