John Weaver

Funeral services for John B. Weaver, 73, of Brookwood, who died Sunday at the Carraway Methodist Hospital, Bessemer, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Hayes Chapel Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Hyche will officiate with burial in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park and Hayes Chapel directing.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mattie E. Weaver, Brookwood; a stepdaughter, Mary Johnson, Tuscaloosa; a stepson, Walter Etheridge, Tuscaloosa; four sisters, Mrs. Lillian Kennedy, New Jersey, Mrs. Gladys Spencer, Brookwood, Mrs. Ann Delbridge, Tuscaloosa, and Mrs. Virginia Workman, Tallahassee, Fla.; two brothers, Francis Weaver, Opelika, and Willie Weaver, Bessemer; and several nieces, nephews, stepgrandchildren and other relatives.

Pallbearers are Jerry Spencer, Jimmy Spencer, Glen Weaver, Clark Weaver, Joe Will Weaver, Harry Weaver and Rev. Bill Norris.

Honorary pallbearers include members of the Brookwood Baptist Church and the Steelworkers Union, Dr. Thomas Flynn, Dr. Richard Pace, Dr. Lowell Gresham and all personnel in the intensive care unit of Carraway Hospital in Bessemer.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at Hayes Chapel Funeral Home.
