John B. Hawkins
Funeral services for John Burton Hawkins, 2429 Bolivar, will be held at the Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. R. B. Fitzgerald, followed by 2 p.m. graveside services at Brigman [sic Brigham] Cemetery at Campbell.
Mr. Hawkins was born in Paradise Aug. 24, 1899, and died Monday at Westgate Hospital.
He married Lillian Grace Roberts in Campbell Feb. 3, 1923, and had been a resident of Denton for the past 24 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, was a retired nurseryman, and for many years, Mr. Hawkins was employed at Selby's Flower Shop.
He is survived by his wife, Grace, of Denton; one son, Glen Hawkins of Abilene; one daughter, Mary Margaret Rish, of Abilene; two brothers, Clyde and Bill Hawkins, both of California; one sister, Effie Mae Parkhill of Modesto, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
