John C. Hardy Dies At Flora

John C. Hardy died at his family residence, eight miles north of Flora, early Sunday morning after a lengthy illness. He was 79 years old.

Mr. Hardy was a retired farmer and a member of the Flora Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife and six sons, A. W., C. L. and J. D. Hardy, all of Canton, J. T. Hardy of Flora, Major W. L. Hardy of the U. S. Army in Shanghai, China, and Henry Hardy of Canton; four daughters, Mrs. O. E. Raybon of Canton, Mrs. A. B. Clingan of Ridgeland, Mrs. H. L. Mason of Jackson and Miss Dorothy Hardy of Flora; one brother, L. L. Hardy of Flora; and 17 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Monday afternoon from the Baldwin chapel with the Rev. Ellison of Flora officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Bluff cemetery.
