SILVER CITY -- John Clayton Savell, 72, former plant manager for Majestic Metal, died of heart failure Sunday at Greenwood-Leflore Hospital in Greenwood. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Mortimer Funeral Home in Belzoni with burial in Belzoni City Cemetery.
Mr. Savell, the husband of Shirley Donald Savell, also leaves a daughter, Marsha Savell Iverson of Meridian; two sons, Martin E. Kennedy of Montrose, Colo., and Arthur E. Healy of Jackson; a stepson, Tommy Estes of Belzoni; seven sisters, Billie Jean Hawk of Pasadena, Texas, Jacqueline Walters of Hattisburg, Maxine Herring and Barbara F. Brey, both of Dickinson, Texas, Jo Ann Hawkins of Belzoni, Irene Jones of Lovelady, Texas, and Marjorie Kay Blake of Greenville; two brothers, Gary Savell of Ridgeland and Harry E. Savell of Belzoni, and eight grandchildren.
