John E. Decell

Funeral services for John Earnest Decell, 92, of 1120 14th Place SW will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Elmwood Chapel, the Rev. Robert Fletcher and the Rev. S. E. Paulk officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.

Mr. Decell died at his residence Monday.

A native of Caseyville, Miss., Mr. Decell had been a resident of Birmingham 25 years. He was a retired machinist.

He attended the Institute for the Deaf in Jackson, Miss., was custodian of the Silent Club for the Deaf, and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church for the Deaf and National Association for the Deaf.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Annie C. Phillips of Birmingham and Mrs. Eunice Nawrocki of Stockholm, N. J.; two sons, Earnest G. Decell of San Mateo, Calif., and William R. Decell of Lomita, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
