John E. Simpson

COLUMBIA -- Services for John E. Simpson will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Riser with the Rev. Larry Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery, west of Columbia.

Simpson, 80, of Grayson died Monday, Oct. 12, 1998, in North Monroe Hospital.

He was a retired state employee having worked for the former Louisiana Forestry Commission for 26 years. He was also a member of Old Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Dwayne H. Simpson of Alexandria; one daughter, Wanda Simpson McMullen of Grayson; two brothers, Grady Simpson of Montgomery, Ala., and Marvis Simpson of Kerman, Calif.; two sisters, Margie Broom of Eureka, Calif., and Ouida Himes of Fresno, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Fatheree, Glen Barnhill, Mason Adkins, Ray McMullen, Randy Roberts and Paul McCoy.

Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Thursday in the funeral home.
