JOHN EARL COCHRAN

WHARTON -- John Earl Cochran, 80, of Wharton, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002.

He was born Aug. 18, 1921, in Bonita, Miss., to the late Horace Franklin and Pearline Welch Cochran. He was a former Sunday school teacher, president of Wharton County Shriners Club and owner of Cochran Motor Company in Wharton. He was a member of Adult 5 Sunday School Class, Wharton Lions Club Shriner, Wharton Masonic Lodge and First Baptist Church in Wharton.

Survivors: wife, Evelyn Rogers Cochran; daughters, Kathleen Cline and Sara Wind, both of Wharton; son, Frank Cochran of Wharton; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: parents.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. tonight at Wharton Funeral Home chapel.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Wharton, the Rev. Mack Mathis and Mr. Donnie Melton officiating.

Burial will be at Wharton City Cemetery. Wharton Funeral Home, Wharton, 979-532-3410.
