John Cochran II

John Earl ``Jay'' Cochran II, age 16, of Wharton, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, in Wharton. He was born on May 15, 1988, in Wharton, the son of Horace Franklin Cochran II and Lisa Carol French Cochran.

Jay was a lifelong resident of Wharton and a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a sophomore at Wharton High School. Jay enjoyed golfing, fishing, four wheeling and being in the great outdoors. He enjoyed life to the fullest and he loved being with his many friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Wharton with the Rev. Mack Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in Wharton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at the Wharton Funeral Home.

Survivors include his parents, Frank and Lisa Cochran of Wharton; sister, Christine Renee Cochran of Wharton; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Cochran of Wharton; maternal grandfather, Tom E. French of Wharton, aunts and uncles, Steve and Annette Frank, Cory and Renee Crim, Kathleen Cline, and Sara and Larry Wind; cousins, Jessica and Miles Frank, Briton and Stuart Watkins, Meaghan Crim, Burke and Sarah Elizabeth Wilkins, Emily and Jackson Wilkins, Robert and Tamar Cline, Laura Wind, John and Sara Beth Wind and Madeline Wind.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Earl Cochran and his grandmother, Verna Grace French.

Pallbearers are John Wind, Burke Wilkins, Stuart Watkins, Briton Watkins, Aaron Kieler, Pierce Otto, Kendan Folmar, Drew Folmar and Blake Folmar.

Honorary pallbearers are all of his many friends.
