Brock Set to Speak in Spokane at 2010 Convention

John F. Brock, chairman and chief executive officer of Coca- Cola Enterprises, will speak at the opening session of the international convention, July 20, 2010, in Spokane, Washington. A visionary, Brock will share thoughts on building brands and customer relationships in a global society. Coca-Cola Enterprises will host a gathering on the river, featuring Coca-Cola products, preceding the opening session.

Brock will help the Society honor the memory of his mother Anise McDaniel Brock and her two sisters at this event. Anise had celebrated 28 years of Society membership when she died in 2006. Anise was an active member of Alpha Xi Chapter in Moss Point, Mississippi. Her son commented, ``I remember so many times when my mother would mention Delta Kappa Gamma Society, whether it was an interesting program or some program she and Jane and Annette were preparing to give.''

Her sister, Jane M. Wade of Mississippi, is a member of Alpha Lambda Chapter, and sister, Annette Robertson, was a former member in Mississippi. All three sisters were musical and performed at chapter and state meetings. Betty Oswald, member of the Eunah Temple Holden Leadership Fund Committee, is a member of Alpha Xi Chapter and a friend of all three sisters.

According to Brock, ``We (Coca-Cola Enterprises) are investing in areas where our business touches the world and where the world touches our business and have linked these areas to our strategic business priorities.''

During this biennium Delta Kappa Gamma, as an international organization, is reviewing its brand, focusing on active educators, and seeking efficiency and effectiveness through technology. Brock will bring insight as to how leadership can assist an organization such as ours grow during the years ahead.

Dr. Carolyn Rants, international president, said, ``Our Society is fortunate to have the foundation built by members like Anise and her sisters. Because of their work in the Society we are enjoying benefits today.''
