John F. Dunn
John F. Dunn, a prosperous farmer of Ward 6, died Wednesday night of last week in the 71st year of his age, and was buried in the Union Church cemetery. He had been sick for many years, suffering from stomach and kidney troubles. Almost four years ago he went to New Orleans, where an operation for gall stones was performed, but the relief was only temporary and he finally succumbed to his ailments.
Mr. Dunn was well and favorably known in Caldwell parish, where he lived most of his life. In 18[63] he was married to Miss Nancy Willis and four children survive from this union. They are Thompson, who lives at Kelley [sic Kelly]; Walter, a resident of Ward 6; Horace, who also lives in Ward 6, and Mrs. Ada Hutson. Mr. Dunn is also grieved for by a number of grand and great-grandchildren.
He was a faithful member of the Methodist church. Two brothers, D. J. Dunn, the town marshal of Columbia, and J. W. Dunn, who has reached the green old age of 86, and a sister, Mrs. Leatha Thomas, survive him.
