John Haynes
John S. Haynes Big John,
He was 57, a resident of Baker and born in Hampton, Virginia. John passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospice. He was a loving son, brother and uncle and will be missed by everyone who knew him. John was a member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.
John is survived by his father, Joseph M. Haynes; two brothers, David M. Haynes and wife Sandra of Zachary, James Jamie Haynes of Baker; two nieces, Alexis M. Haynes and Tamra Todd Corban; his nephew, Michael Todd; two aunts, Jeanne Delooze and husband Ken of Maurpas and Pam Meaulance of Baton Rouge; his uncle, John Meaulance of French Settlement; and numerous cousins.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Vida J. Haynes; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Haynes and Mr. and Mrs. John H. Meaulance.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation from the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd. Friday, January 2, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until religious services in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Religous services will be conducted by Rev. Wayne Myers and the burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
