John H. Wallace

John H. Wallace, 72, of a former Birmingham resident, died Friday night in a San Francisco, Calif., hospital.

Local funeral arrangements will be announced by Ridout's upon arrival of the body here. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Services were held in San Francisco this morning.

Mr. Wallace was a native of Six Mile, Ala., and while he resided in Birmingham made his home at 3919 Third Avenue, South. He was employed for a number of years as a car inspector for the L. & N. Railroad. Later he operated a produce business. He moved to San Francisco in 1930.

He was a member of St. David's Presbyterian Church, of San Francisco.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alberta Wallace; two daughters, Mrs. Preston Matthews and Miss Katherine Wallace; four sons, J. Duncan, Marvin E. and Wade Wallace, all of Birmingham, and Frank L. Wallace, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Marvin Evans, of Walla Walla, Wash., and six grandchildren.
