Funeral Services for John Herschel Slaughter, 54, of LaRose, LA , formerly of Glenmora, LA will be held on Wednesday, September 05, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Many, LA with Rev. Dean Hillman officiating. Burial will follow in the Warren Cemetery in Many, LA. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, September 05, 2012, at 9:30 AM until time of service at the Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Many, LA.

John Herschel Slaughter was born on Friday, April 18, 1958 in Alexandria, LA. He passed away on Saturday, September 01, 2012 at his residence in LaRose, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Newell Willard Slaughter and Bessie Knippers Slaughter.

He is survived by his daughter, Brytani Cheyane Slaughter Brady of Glenmora, LA; his very dear friends, Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Cheramie, Sr. and their family of LaRose, LA; two brothers, James w. Slaughter and his wife, Angel of Magnolia, TX and N.W. “Bubba” Slaughter, Jr. and his wife Beverly of Berwick, LA; three sisters, Norma Slaughter Garcia and husband, Noe of Zwolle, LA; Dovie Slaughter Gill of Pensacola, FL and Paula Slaughter Brady of Glenmora, LA; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Cheramie, Jr., Bud Cheramie, Blake Cheramie, Bubba Slaughter, Robert Busby and Kade Slaughter.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Rodney Cheramie, Sr., Jenice Cheramie and Amanda Cheramie.
