Last Rites Held For Horrie Boyett Wednesday, Apr. 6

Last rites for John Horrie Boyett, 54, who died in a local hospital early Sunday morning, following a heart attack, were held at Welcome Home Baptist Church, Hudson Community, Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. T. L. Rhymes officiating. Burial was in the Welcome Home Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Acting as pallbearers were Earl Applewhite, John Glynn Jackson, G. D. Babin, Sonny Brooks, Victor Brinkley, and J. C. Brooks, Sr.

Mr. Boyett was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Boyett, pioneer residents of Winn Parish. He was a former automobile dealer in Ferriday, Columbia, and more recently in Winnfield, but owing to ill health he had retired from active business about two years ago and had lived since at his home at Tannehill station, five miles north of Winnfield.

His only immediate survivor is his wife, Mrs. Merle Boyett. He leaves a number of uncles and aunts, and a host of relatives.
