John Howard Saxon
LIVINGSTON -- Funeral services for John Howard Saxon Jr., 79, were held Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Corrigan, with the Rev. James Brock and the Rev. Curtis Jordan officiating. Burial followed in Union Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Saxon died Tuesday, Jan. 22, in St. Luke's Hospital in Houston.
He was born April 27, 1928 in Corrigan, the son of John and Minnie Aydelotte Saxon Sr., both of whom preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, O'Weena Saxon of Livingston; son and daughter-in-law, John Mitchell Saxon and Gayle of Corrigan; son, Stephen Saxon of Deer Park; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Doug Tompkins of Livingston; sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Charlie Fuller of Livingston; granddaughters, Jamie Quinn and husband Daniel of Nacogdoches, Jennifer Saxon of Lufkin, Julie Saxon of Longview and Lindsay Tompkins of Livingston; grandson, Dylan Tompkins of Livingston and great-granddaughters, Madison Mahr of Lufkin and Cameryn Quinn of Nacogdoches.
Pallbearers were Julio Perez, Seth Handley, Daniel Quinn, Harlon Parrish, Charlie Fuller and Roy Beauchamp. Honorary pallbearers were Buddy Purvis, Hal Hubbard, Alton Burris and Carly Smith.
Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
