M'CARTY RITES ARE CONDUCTED

MAGEE, Nov. 19 -- Funeral services for J. I. McCarty of Summerland were held from the Edon Baptist church of Jasper county with the Rev. J. T. Carter, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Edon cemetery.

McCarty was a native of Jasper county. He was 50 years of age and a member of the Edon Baptist church. He was a life-long resident of the community. His death occurred after an illness of only a few days.

Surviving are the following relatives: his wife, Mrs. J. I. McCarty; one son, J. I. McCarty, Jr., of Summerland, four brothers, R. C. McCarty of Summerland, Allen McCarty of Laurel, A. J. McCarty of Pedal [sic Petal] and C. G. McCarty of Alma, Arkansas; six sisters, Mrs. Sarah James of Montrose, Mrs. Nancy Fails of Bay Springs, Mrs. Virgie Halford of Louin, Miss Emma McCarty of Stringer, Miss Vicey McCarty of Louin and Mrs. Ida Cox of Louin.
