John J. Peters

WINNFIELD -- Services for John Jennings Peters will be at 11 a.m. today in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Leland McCullough and Dr. Calvin Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Southern.

Peters, 71, of Winnfield died Monday, May 2, 1994, in Willis-Knighton Medical Center, Shreveport.

He was a cattleman and farmer and a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Jean M. Peters of Winnfield; one stepson, Tom Bradford of Shreveport; one stepdaughter, Kim Bankston of Winnfield; one brother, Gordon C. Peters of Winnfield; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kermit Simmons, Tommy Bankston, Gene Porter, Don Garrett, David Griffin and Don Pride.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. today in the funeral home until shortly before time of services in the church.
