John L. Whittington

DERIDDER (Special) -- Funeral services for John L. Whittington, 74, of Rose Pine, will be at 2 p.m. today in Eaton Baptist Church, Leesville, with the Rev. Elmer Douglas and Elder Woodrow Wilson officiating.

Burial will be in Cryers Cemetery in Leesville, under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of DeRidder.

Mr. Whittington died Thursday at 9:30 p.m. in Columbia Heights Hospital, Columbia, after a short illness.

Survivors include four sons, George L. Whittington and Eugene Whittington, both of Clarks, Wade F. Whittington, West Monroe and John L. Whittington, Jr., DeRidder; two daughters, Mrs. [illegible] of Kelly and Mrs. Vergie Legg, [illegible] and Mrs. Linda Greene; four brothers, Lonnie Whittington, Denham Springs, Clarence Whittington, [illegible], Miss., Enoch Whittington, Joplin, Mo. and Felix Whittington, Oceanside, Calif.; [illegible].
