SHREVEPORT - Services will be held for Mr. John Morris Crain, 75, of Shreveport, at 10 a.m. Monday September 20 at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel with Dr. Ronald F. Murray, Associate Pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery.
He died Friday September 17, 1982 at his residence following a short illness. Mr. Crain, born in Winn Parish, La. and a resident of Shreveport 55 years, was the owner of Frank's Body Works for 38 years. He was a graduate of Lynn's Business College. Mr. Crain was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shreveport, was a member and a former Lt. Governor and State Secretary of the Kiwanis Club and a member of the Shriners, where he served as Class Director. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Maritzky Crain.
He is survived by two daughters, Joan Williams, wife of Dr. Milton Williams, of Keithville, La., and Betty Dunn, wife of Chuck Dunn, of Athens, Ga.; two sisters, Blanche Ingouf and Rush Tyler, of Shreveport; two brothers, James Lamar Crain of Blanchard, La. and Basham M. Crain of Cummings, Ga.; grandchildren, Ashley Camille Williams, Amber Christine Williams and Aaron Crain Williams, of Keithville, La., and Katherine Michelle Dunn of Athens, Ga.
Pallbearers: Herbert H. Clifton, S. W. Beaty, Joseph B. Edmondson, Eli Duke Williams, Phillip B. Emmons, W. Chris Hamel, Winfred L. Martin.
