John Oliver Paul
BATON ROUGE - Services for John Oliver Paul will be at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Rabenhorst East, Baton Rouge, with the Rev. Ernest W. Saik officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery of Memory.
Paul, 80, of Baton Rouge died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in Baton Rouge General-Mid City.
He was a native of Pineville and a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Baton Rouge. He was a 1937 graduate of Bolton High School, Alexandria, and received his bachelor's degree from LSU in petroleum engineering in 1950.
He was a member of American Legion in Alexandria for more than 50 years and also a member of the VFW. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper and was awarded two bronze stars and two purple hearts while participating in the Battle of the Bulge.
He worked as a manager for S.H. Kress and TG&Y stores.
He was preceded in death by one son, John Michael Paul and parents, John O. Paul Sr. and Ailleen Dammon Paul.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Ruth Perroux Paul of Baton Rouge two sons, James M. “Jimmy” Paul and Robert P. “Bobby” Paul two sisters, Carolyn P. Cannon and Laura P. Beym three grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of services today in the funeral home.
