John Roy Harrison

Services for John Roy Harrison of Greenwood will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Williams and Lord Funeral Home.

Mr. Harrison, 88, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at his residence.

Mr. Harrison was born in Eupora on Dec. 26, 1919, to Sim and Lillian Harrison. He was a graduate of Eupora High School and Mississippi State University. He served in the United States Air Force in World War II and the Korean War in the Aleutian Islands and Morocco before retiring after 22 years of service. Upon returning home he became part owner of Morris Office Machines in Greenwood. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenwood and was also a life member in both the American Legion Post #29 in Greenwood and the Masonic Lodge in Webster County. He enjoyed traveling the United States and Europe and his hobbies were boating and water skiing. He was a devoted spouse and gentle father to his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Bosseliat.

He is survived by his spouse of 25 years, Claudia Freeman Harrison of Greenwood; two daughters, Lisa Botts of Richmond, Va., and Lisa McCool of Southaven; his son, Harold Odem of Seabrook, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. at Williams and Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood.

The Rev. Glenn Seefeld will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Mr. Harrison's family. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Lindsey and Larry Crawford.

Williams and Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Burial will be in Mount Moriah Methodist Cemetery in Webster County at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
