John Holden Service Held At Eureka
Funeral services for John Russell Holden, age 80, were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 15, from the Eureka Baptist Church in Rankin County with Rev. A. J. Stewart, Rev. Edgar Jenkins, and Rev. T. W. Saucier officiating. Interment followed in Eureka Cemetery.
Holden died on Saturday at Rankin County Hospital in Brandon following a short illness. A retired farmer, he was a native of Rankin County, having lived in the Eureka Community before moving to Canton where he had lived for the past 28 years. He was a member of the Eureka Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Emma Lee Holmes, Route 3, Morton, Mrs. Leona Carl, Brandon and Mrs. Ruby Fitzhugh, of Florence; 13 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Fitzhugh, Fred Fitzhugh, Thomas Fitzhugh, Roger Jones, James Welford and Gary Saucier.
