John ``Chuck'' Shelton Garner, Sr.

John ``Chuck'' Shelton Garner, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2005.

Chuck served during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Navy with the rank of 1st Class Bosun's Mate. John was proud to have worked for San Antonio Fire Department for over 30 years. He was a Scout Master for over 20 years with Troop 361, Fire Scouts. John was Awarded the Face of San Antonio and Guy Cude Volunteer Award.

He is survived by his wife, Millicent; daughter, Adrienne (Joe) Garner Schoemaker of Villa Park, California; sons, John Shelton Garner, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Jamie Garner of San Antonio, Texas; brothers, Billy Jack Garner of West, Virginia, and Jerry Garner of Bay Town, Texas; sister Candy Pearl Bullock of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren: Athena Garner David, Jennifer, Catherine, and Matthew Schoemaker, John Garner III, Christopher, Jaran, Jarn, and Shawn Garner; and three great grandchildren: William ``Billy'' David, Kylie and Ara Garner.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Friday, July 29, 2005, at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary at 7:00 pm.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank Dr. Albert Guinn, Doctor's Regional Hospital, Vista Care Hospice and Corpus Christi Cancer Center for their loving care for John.
