Funeral Pending For Victim Of Kuwait Wreck

Funeral arrangements for John S. Whitten, 33, a former resident of Monroe, were incomplete Sunday night under direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe.

A superintendent for the Loffland Drilling Co., Mr. Whitten died Friday in an automobile accident in Salmiya, Kuwait where he was employed.

He graduated from Rayville High School, and had spent four years in Argentina and six years in Kuwait with the drilling company.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bonnie Wyles Whitten of Salmiya; two sons, Russell Brent Whitten of Salmiya and John S. Whitten Jr., of Altus, Okla.; two daughters, Diana Whitten of Altus and Johnette Whitten of Salmiya; his mother, Mrs. Lelia Whitten of Monroe; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Maude Eppinette of Monroe; two sisters, Betty Whitten and Mrs. Elizabeth Hendrix of Monroe; a number of aunts and uncles; and a number of nieces and nephews.
