John T. Grant

John T. Grant, 77, of Batesville, died of heart failure Monday, May 5, 1997, at South Panola Community Hospital in Batesville.

Mr. Grant was a native of Carroll County. He was born in Carrollton to John M. and Lettie Emmons Grant. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a retired supervisor of Piggly Wiggly.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 8, at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alan Kilgore and the Rev. John Sanderson officiating. Interment was at 2 p.m. in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Greenville.

Mr. Grant is survived by one daughter, Cheryle Grant Dean of Naples, Italy; one brother, Emmons Grant of Oxford; one sister, Mary Vance of Greenville; one son-in-law, Stanley Dean, Jr. of Naples, Italy; and four grandchildren.

Wells Funeral Home of Batesville was in charge of arrangements.
